Regence BlueShield Pre-Existing Condition Waiting Period & Policy Exclusions Pre-Existing Condition Waiting Period 
Regence BlueShield Individual Selections Plans contain a nine-month pre-existing condition waiting period. This waiting period excludes coverage for a nine-month period for you and your dependents' pre-existing conditions. A pre-existing condition is one for which medical advice was given or for which a health care provider recommended or provided treatment within six months prior to the date we received your substantially completed application and health questionnaire.Pre-Existing Condition waiting periods may be reduced by the length of time you and your dependents were covered under a prior insurance carrier. To qualify for the reduced waiting period you must apply within 63 days of losing your prior coverage and supply a Certificate of Creditable Coverage.
